OVERVIEW

Annapurna Base Camp Trek:

The Annapurna Base Camp Trek culminates at a natural amphitheatre surrounded by some of the most spectacular Himalayan peaks. At the beginning of the trek, Machhapuchare (fish-tail peak) and Annapurna South dominate the horizon. Later, Annapurna I rises over 8,000m into the sky to captivate trekkers.  Despite being called the Annapurna Base Camp, most expeditions on Annapurna I choose to establish a base camp on the other side of the mountain near the Annapurna Circuit trail.

The trek passes through several Gurung villages. The Gurung people are one of sixty ethnic groups in Nepal. They are the predominant race recruited in the famous Gurkha regiments. In the beginning, the trek goes through terraced rice fields climbing up and down the infamous Gurung staircases. The trail gradually ascends to old growth and bamboo forests.

This is a great first time trek in Nepal. Come join us on this spectacular journey! Experience the culture and hospitality of the Gurung people! There are two versions of the classic Annapurna Trek – the other being the Annapurna Circuit Trek.

Our Nepal and Tibet treks and climbs are operated by – Crystal Mountain Treks . Crystal Mountain Treks has been in business for over two decades. We employ only the best guides with a minimum of 15 years experience. And we treat our staff with the utmost care and respect. Each staff member is provided high-quality equipment and paid higher-than-average wages. Our clients have commented that our treks provide a better value than other companies they researched. We are happy to provide references of people who have journeyed with us in the past upon request.

“We had an absolutely wonderful trip to Nepal!  It exceeded our expectations in every possible way… from the lodging to the professionalism of the guides. I can’t thank you enough for coordinating and arranging such a great vacation for us. We’ve traveled extensively with numerous travel companies. The pre-trip materials that Grand Asian Journeys provided were by far the best materials we’ve ever received prior to a trip. They were thorough, concise and well-presented.  Everything was perfect from beginning to end!  I wouldn’t change a thing about the pre-trip planning, the trip itself, hotels, restaurants, guides… anything!”
