On this unique journey discover the streets of Hanoi’s Old Quarter by cyclo, inspirational Halong Bay on an overnight boat, and the Mekong Delta! Our Vietnamese Hotpot is the perfect introduction to Indochina, and is sure to be a hit with groups big and small, including young and old alike. The quality of accommodations is a real highlight of this trip with centrally located hotels with air conditioning and swimming pools (except in Hanoi).

Suitable for travelers with an average level of fitness and independent mobility. The tour involves walking over uneven surfaces and climbing stairs, often in the heat. There are two domestic flights as well as rides on cyclos (Vietnamese pedi-cabs) and several small boats. You will need to be able to board and disembark boats independently, sometimes between muddy or slippery banks. There is an overnight boat cruise. There are some long road journeys (up to four hours). While accommodation are three to four-stars or best available, this is not ‘sanitized’ travel; by day you will walk through markets and villages, meet local people, and sample local food.

Day 01 - Hanoi
Upon arrival in Hanoi you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Tonight meet your tour leader (or local guide) for welcome drinks and a tour briefing.

An overnight boat on Halong Bay provides stunning views of this natural wonder.

Disembark this afternoon and drive to Hanoi and enjoy an evening Water Puppet show.

Day 04 - Hanoi to Hue
See historic Ba Dinh Square, the peaceful Temple of Literature, the infamous Hanoi Hilton Prison and take a fascinating cyclo ride through the Old Quarter before transferring to the airport for your flight to Hue.

Day 05 - Hue
Encounter the ancient imperial capital’s Citadel, the tomb of former emperor – Khai Dinh, Thien Mu Pagoda and a journey by boat along the Perfume River before tonight’s sumptuous Imperial Dinner.

Day 06 - Hue to Hoi An

Drive south along the dramatic coastal road at Hai Van Pass to Hoi An, stopping at Marble Mountain en-route. Enjoy the architecture, local delicacies and friendly locals of Hoi An on a walking tour of town.

Day 07 - Hoi An
Interact with local fisherman and learn traditional fishing techniques.

Day 08 - Hoi An
Spend the day learning to cook Vietnamese food at a local cooking school, or perhaps you’d prefer to be “Local for a Day” and learn about a day in the life of a Hoi An resident.

Day 09 - Hoi An to Saigon
Fly to Saigon and see the sights of old and new Saigon in the central ‘French quarter’, the bustling market streets and old temples of Saigon’s ‘Chinatown’.

Day 10 - Saigon to Vinh Long
Explore the Mekong Delta’s canals, orchards and towns by boat before heading back to Saigon.

Return to Saigon and have a brief afternoon walking tour. Farewell dinner.

Make a copy of the photo page of your passport. If your trip involves a trek in Nepal, email or send us a passport-sized color photo. Mail a check for $500 per person for Nepal Treks or $1,000 for other journeys (non-refundable deposit), passport copy, photo and completed reservation form.

Cancelation Policy

If you cancel:

• More than 60 days prior to departure; deposit is forfeited, the remainder is refunded
• 60 to 30 days prior to departure, 50% of tour cost subject to refund
• No refunds will be provided for any unused services or cancellations made within 30 days prior to departure
