China Explorer is a memorable trip that encompasses the essential spirit of this ancient country.
The introduction to China begins in Beijing with visits to Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City and the renowned Summer Palace. After wandering the magnificent Great Wall, we’ll eat a traditional Chinese lunch at a local farm and enjoy an evening acrobat show. From Beijing, we’ll join the ranks of the Terra Cotta Warriors in Xian. After a boat cruise down the Li River from Guilin and entertainment in Yangshuo, we’ll trek to terraced rice fields and enjoy authentic cuisine in villages. The journey ends in Shanghai, which delights with peaceful visits to the Jade Buddha Temple and Yu Garden.

Detailed Itinerary
Day 01 - Beijing
Upon arrival into Beijing International Airport, meet and transfer to hotel. Enjoy the rest of the day free at your leisure. (No meals)
Day 02 - Beijing
An exciting full day of city orientation tours to notable sites, such as Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City and the Summer Palace. Savor a Chinese imperial style lunch at Family Bai Restaurant and welcome dinner at the Red Capital Club. (All meals)
Day 03 - Beijing
Visit the Lama Temple in the morning and drive to the northeast part of the city to see, depending on your fitness level, either the Mutianyu Great Wall or the Jinshanling Great Wall. Chinese lunch is at a local farm. Watch talented performers at evening acrobat show. (Breakfast and Lunch)
Day 04 - Beijing to Xian
Rise early in the morning to see the Temple of Heaven where you may find local people doing morning exercises. Continue to Houhai area for a Hutong tour with Cantonese Dim Sum lunch at Tiandi Restaurant. Transfer to airport for afternoon flight to Xian. Meet and transfer to hotel upon arrival. (Breakfast and Lunch)
Day 05 - Xian
Tour the site of the famous Terra Cotta Warriors, Shaanxi History Museum and Big Wild Goose Pagoda. Enjoy a Chinese lunch and dumpling dinner at local restaurant. Tang Dynasty Show in the evening. (All meals)
Day 06 - Xian to Guilin
Visit the Great Mosque and City Wall in the morning. Savor a Chinese lunch at a local restaurant. Transfer to airport for afternoon flight to Guilin. Upon arrival meet and transfer to the city for a Chinese dinner at Red Lantern Restaurant and Cormorant Fisherman's Show in the evening. (All meals)
Day 07 - Guilin to Yangshuo
Take a boat cruise down the Li River with boxed lunch. Disembark at Xingping and drive to Fuli to see local workshops. Continue to Yangshuo. Enjoy the Impression Miss Liusanjie Show in the evening. (Breakfast and Lunch)
Day 08 - Yangshuo to Longsheng
Bike or drive in the morning to see Aishan Village, Big Banyan Tree and Moon Hill Parks with a Chinese lunch at local restaurant. Drive in the afternoon to Longsheng for dinner and check in to hotel. (All meals)
Day 09 - Longsheng
A full day of trekking includes visits to terraced rice fields and cultural experience in ethnic people's villages. Enjoy lunch and dinner at hotel. (All meals)
Day 10 - Longsheng to Guilin to Shanghai
Drive back to Guilin to see its Reed Flute Cave, Fubo Hill and Seven Star Park. Chinese lunch is at Water & Moon Restaurant. Transfer to airport for flight to Shanghai. Meet and transfer to hotel upon arrival. (Breakfast and Lunch)
Day 11 - Shanghai
Travel to Pudong side of Shanghai to see the History Display Museum. Take time to appreciate the panoramic view on the 100th floor of the World Finance Center. Eat Chinese lunch at Xiaonanguo. See the Yu Garden and Xintiandi area and have Chinese dinner at Ye Shanghai. (All meals)
Day 12 - Shanghai
Visit the Shanghai Museum in the morning. Partake in Chinese lunch at Shanghai Uncle. See the Jade Buddha Temple, former concession area, Bund and Nanjing Road. Celebrate and reminisce about the exciting journey at a farewell dinner at Laris. (Breakfast and Lunch)
Day 13 - Depart China
Transfer to airport for flight home. (Breakfast)

Make a copy of the photo page of your passport. If your trip involves a trek in Nepal, email or send us a passport-sized color photo. Mail a check for $500 per person for Nepal Treks or $1,000 for other journeys (non-refundable deposit), passport copy, photo and completed reservation form.

Cancelation Policy
If you cancel:
- More than 60 days prior to departure; deposit is forfeited, the remainder is refunded
- 60 to 30 days prior to departure, 50% of tour cost subject to refund
- No refunds will be provided for any unused services or cancellations made within 30 days prior to departure
